Despite the name, magnesium oil isn’t actually an oil. It is a concentrated solution of magnesium chloride dissolved in water. The name comes from the silky, oil-like texture it leaves on the skin.

Topical magnesium offers a simple alternative to taking magnesium orally, allowing it to be applied directly to the skin without passing through the digestive system which can lead to gastric upset.

Applied topically, magnesium offers a simple way to replenish this essential mineral, traditionally used to support relaxation, ease tired muscles, and encourage restful sleep.

Prepared in small batches at the apothecary using pure magnesium chloride and distilled water. Select blends include carefully chosen botanical essential oils.

How it feels

Light • silky • quickly absorbed

A gentle tingling may occur when first applied, especially on dry skin. This is normal and often softens with regular use.
